ACC Update
One lane of east-bound traffic on Katella Avenue between West Street and Hotel Way may be closed during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to accommodate utility work related to the Anaheim Convention Center Expansion.Demolition of Car Park 1 at the Convention Center is nearing completion. Processing and hauling of debris continues, with most of the major demolition work complete.

Construction crews will continue their activities 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Apart from occasional loud noise during demolition, there should be no major disturbances to the local community during the next few months.*

The Anaheim Convention Center Expansion will add 200,000 square feet of leasable, flexible space for hosting concurrent events, capturing new meeting groups and retaining large annual events, in additional to the replacement of the parking spaces provided in Car Park 1. The project will be completed in Summer 2017.

Located in the heart of the Anaheim Resort District, the Anaheim Convention Center is an important enterprise operation the City relies upon to support the General Fund. The Anaheim Resort District provides approximately 50% of the General Fund tax revenues, which in turn provides for vital City services such as Fire, Police, parks, libraries, and more.  Additional tax revenue from the expansion is projected to be more than $9 million annually. An estimated 1,860 jobs will be created during construction, and the expansion will support more than 2,000 new jobs annually.
